In the import settings, you can allow loading partitions, creating new partitions, updating existing partitions, and deleting empty partitions.
When to use
Use sections if products must maintain a category tree or link to a storefront.
Setting procedure
- In the Union Catalog profile, configure partition identification.
- Choose whether to download source sections.
- Configure the behavior for products without a section: download or skip.
- Choose whether to create new partitions from the source.
- After import, open the section settings in the catalog and check the structure.
What to check
- Section paths from the source are read the same for all rows.
- New partitions do not create a garbage structure.
- Empty sections are only deleted if expected.
Notes
- Full partition synchronization can affect many products.
- For marketplaces and websites, section requirements may differ.
