Variables and system values

The rules support system tokens such as current time, RUB currency, rates, dates and user profile variables.

When to use

Use variables when the same value must be substituted in several places in the result.

Setting procedure

1. Determine which value should be reused.
2. Add a variable or system token in the field settings.
3. Use substitution in a value pattern or rule.
4. Check that the variable has been substituted in the preview.
5. When changing a variable, double-check all fields where it is used.

What to check

• The variable is filled before startup.
• The date format matches the recipient's expectations.
• The rate or currency is used only where necessary.

Notes

• System values are convenient for the unload date and service fields.
• Don't use variables for secrets: there are separate source and SMTP protected fields for passwords.
